“I’m building this business one satisfied customer at a time.” This has been and still is the philosophy of our business. Original owner, Joel Tanenhaus, created the business, believing first and foremost, in catering to the store’s homeowners and contractors.
Nassau Suffolk Hardware (formerly Nassau Suffolk Home Supplies) has been a family-owned and run True Value hardware store on Long Island, NY since 1984, serving homes across Nassau and Suffolk counties.
In 1994, Andy Tanenhaus, the current owner and manager, joined the family business. His extensive background and experience in Business Management, Technology and Entrepreneurship, helped him continue the growth and development that is reflected in the current business.
Over the years, Nassau Suffolk Hardware increased the size and scope of the business. Space was increased by expanding retail and storage areas, increasing the decorative hardware showroom, and bringing in new product lines. In addition to our wide selection of general hardware and contractor supplies, services such as decorative hardware installation are now offered. Currently, we also offer Site Visits or work directly from a set of blue prints to help with simplifying the selection of door hardware.
Recently, we have added the ability to manufacture architectural grills. We can make many items that are too complicated to fabricate by hand with a CNC machine. This enables us to pattern customized pieces from CAD drawings or renderings in either wood or plastic.
The most recent step in our growth and development has been the move in February 2015 from our long time home in Roslyn, NY to our new and expanded showroom in the city of Glen Cove, NY.
We are now located in a 8,000 square foot, stand-alone building with private parking, located at 33 Cedar Swamp Road, at the corner of First Street (across from Lexus).
We thank you for your patronage over the years and look forward to serving you and providing our continued quality, value and expertise, “one satisfied customer at a time,” for years to come.
